How to sort parking and access before the day
- Check the parking at both ends. Most inner-London streets are permit-controlled — if yours needs a visitor permit or a suspension, the council sorts that, and it’s worth doing a few days ahead.
- Find the nearest place a van can actually stop. A loading bay or a side street 30 seconds away beats a red route right outside.
- Measure the awkward pieces. If the sofa went in through the window, tell us — a photo of the stairwell helps too.
- Book the lift if your building has one. Some blocks let you reserve the lift or want the concierge told — five minutes now saves an hour on the day.
- Central move? If it’s inside the congestion charge zone we’ll tell you up front — it’s the only kind of extra we ever add.
